Modou Khabane Guèye Throat-Slashed in His Jewelry Shop, Horrifying Discoveries at the Crime Scene

Modou Khabane Guèye, owner and manager of a jewelry shop in Zac-Mbao, was found dead after a burglary at the premises during the night of October 17–18. A local resident, concerned that the shop was still open at about 9 p.m., discovered Guèye lying behind the counter in a pool of blood. Police noted a deep gash on the left side of his head, bruises, and blood on the walls, while evidence suggested the intruders had tried to open a safe. The burglars reportedly cut the electricity and took the surveillance cameras; Rufisque police have opened an investigation.
