Virginia Supreme Court strikes down Democrats’ redistricting plan in US

Virginia’s Supreme Court has struck down a new electoral map designed to flip four Republican-held US congressional seats to Democrats. The court ruled that the Democratic-led legislature violated procedural requirements by placing the constitutional amendment on the ballot. Although voters approved the amendment on April 21, the court's ruling renders the results of that vote null and void.
