Tinubu declares national emergency on insecurity, poverty in Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a national emergency on insecurity and poverty, describing them as major threats to jobs and national stability. He announced the launch of the Community Protection Guards Initiative, which has recruited 45,000 young Nigerians to enhance community security. Under his Renewed Hope Agenda, he also mentioned expanded cash transfers reaching 15 million vulnerable households and infrastructure projects generating over 600,000 jobs.
