The second transmission corridor for the Nachtigal hydroelectric power plant, with an installed capacity of 420 MW, is experiencing delays. After multiple postponements, the government has set a new deadline for completion in November 2026, instead of June, to strengthen the electricity network serving Douala, Cameroon’s main industrial hub. The Minister of Water and Energy, Gaston Eloundou Essomba, visited the sites and confirmed this new timeline. These delays hinder the delivery of an additional 150 MW of industrial demand.
