AFCON 2028: CAF launches inspection visits to a hosting candidate

A CAF delegation arrived in Addis Ababa on October 15 to assess Ethiopia’s bid to host AFCON 2028. The experts are expected to review stadiums, construction projects and hosting capacity in several cities. When Ethiopia submitted its bid in August, it had only one provisionally CAF-approved stadium, while the planned Adey Abeba International Stadium is expected to hold about 62,000 people. The bid also faces security concerns amid renewed tensions with Eritrea and clashes in the Tigray region.
