Egypt's Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, emphasized the need to ensure freedom of navigation and rejected the use of maritime corridors as a means of political pressure or escalation. During a meeting in Cairo, Arab foreign ministers also stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty of regional states. Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the Arab League, mentioned balanced relations with Iran, contingent upon respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
