WHO deploys experts to support response to Ebola outbreak in Ituri

The World Health Organization (WHO) deployed a team to Ituri on May 5 to assist Congolese health authorities in responding to a new Ebola outbreak. Experts are focusing on contact tracing and sample collection, with suspected cases identified in Mongwalu and Rwampara. The WHO has also provided medical supplies and released $500,000 to support the response, as the 17th outbreak occurs in a fragile security context.
