The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) secured a five-year prison sentence for a Taveta man convicted of dealing in elephant tusks valued at Ksh350,000. The man was arrested following an operation by the Kenya Wildlife Service after receiving information about individuals possessing valuable trophies. Taveta Senior Principal Magistrate Cecilia Kithinji found the man guilty and granted him 14 days to appeal.
