Biometric driver's licenses: Jean-Pierre Bemba audited at the National Assembly

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo was heard on June 12, 2026 at the National Assembly regarding secure biometric driver's licenses. He responded to a question from MP Emil Saidi Balikwisha. The reform is based on a public-private partnership with OTOJUSTE SARL to produce 7 million licenses over ten years, with an investment of over $102 million. Twenty-three enrollment and delivery sites are planned across the DRC, with progressive deployment.
