Babajou-Bamenda Road: the failed mediation between CDEC and Afriland First Bank

The mediation between the Caisse de dépôts et de consignations (CDEC) and Afriland First Bank regarding a guarantee of 4.3 billion FCFA failed. Initiated by Afriland's CEO, Célestin Guela Simo, this effort aimed to prevent the forced recovery of funds linked to a public contract of 14 billion FCFA for the rehabilitation of the Babajou-Bamenda road. The discussions faltered due to legal disagreements despite the involvement of financial authorities.
