Delhi police denied permission for the protest, deploying thousands of security personnel and barricading roads, but the CJP insisted on proceeding. The movement started in May after India's Chief Justice likened some unemployed young people to 'cockroaches'. A video showing the detention of CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was shared on social media. Protesters were heard banging on bus windows following their detention.
