Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, teased Lamine Yamal about his decision to play for Spain instead of Morocco. On the sidelines of the 2026 World Cup, Lekjaa said he hopes to meet Spain in the final to see if Yamal made the right choice. He had previously stated that Yamal is culturally Moroccan and that he knows no Spaniard named 'Jamal' in Spanish football history.
