South African sprinter Bayanda Walaza finished fourth in the 100m at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland with a time of 10.26 seconds, while compatriot Abdurahman Karriem took second in 10.22 seconds. The race marks his second comeback after a severe hamstring injury suffered at the Zurich Diamond League final last year. Meanwhile, at the third leg of the Diamond League in Rabat, Sinesipho Dambile placed third in the 200m in 20.03 seconds, and Zakithi Nene fourth in the 400m in 44.41 seconds. Walaza's major target remains the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
