In Africa, the war in the Middle East threatens the supply of medicines

Rodrigue Alitanou from the NGO Alima warns that by the end of April, Africa may face a shortage of medicines due to the conflict in the Middle East, which exacerbates tensions on humanitarian supplies. Rising fuel costs and U.S. financial cuts to international aid complicate the situation. Over 70% of medicines in Africa are imported, and additional costs could reduce the number of malnourished children receiving care. The situation is already critical in countries like Sudan and the DRC.
