Why Nepal is demanding climate justice and compensation after deadly floods

Nepal is demanding $20 million in compensation after devastating floods caused by climate change, resulting in over 1,300 deaths and more than 5,000 missing. Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal stated that the country is paying the ultimate price for a global crisis it did not create. President Ramchandra Paudel also urged the international community to take concrete steps to ensure climate justice. Nepal's Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Environment have sent a joint letter to the United Nations requesting funds.
