DCP Clinches Ol Kalou Seat as Sammy Waweru Wins By-Election With 35,440 Votes

Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) candidate Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru was declared the winner of the Ol Kalou by-election with 35,440 votes, defeating UDA candidate Samuel Muchina Nyagah who got 5,450 votes. The election drew national attention as a contest between supporters of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and President William Ruto. Voter turnout was 57% out of 73,480 registered voters. The seat fell vacant after the death of former MP David Njuguna Kiaraho.
