Kenya welcomes four critically endangered mountain bongos from Prague zoo

Four mountain bongos, a rare type of antelope native to Kenya's highland forests, have arrived in Kenya after being sent from a zoo in the Czech Republic. Welcomed by ministers and officials at Nairobi's airport, they have been moved to a private wildlife reserve. The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) hailed this historic homecoming as a meaningful step towards the recovery of this species, with fewer than 100 individuals estimated to remain in the wild.
