Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council announced the recovery of 375kg of gold connected to the case of former Deputy Oil Minister Adnan Al Jumaili, arrested on corruption charges. 358kg were recovered with Kurdish authorities, and an additional 17kg in a separate probe. The gold was handed over to the Central Bank of Iraq. This seizure is part of an anti-corruption crackdown since Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi took office in May, which has uncovered over $100 million in missing funds.
