FCT: Police launch Violent Crime Response Unit to address security threats

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Monday launched the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) to strengthen the fight against violent crimes. Commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi stated that the unit aims to address security threats including armed robbery, kidnapping, and violent attacks. The unit is structured into five operational sectors to improve coverage, intelligence gathering, and response capability. Selected officers underwent rigorous training and must adhere to professionalism and respect for human rights.
