Two presidential campaign staffers killed in Colombia as elections near

Two campaign staffers for right-wing presidential candidate Abelardo de la Espriella were killed in Colombia two weeks before the elections. The victims, Rogers Mauricio Devia Escoba and his adviser Eder Fabian Cardona Lopez, were shot by gunmen on motorbikes in the central department of Meta. The citizens' rights ombudsman warned that these acts of violence could impact the exercise of political rights and democratic participation in the upcoming elections on May 31.
