Two Reportedly Shot as ADC Supporters Head to Atiku Rally in Sokoto

Two people described as African Democratic Congress (ADC) supporters were reportedly shot and injured on Wednesday along the Sokoto–Wurno Road by Sokoto State Community Guards. They were travelling to a campaign rally for ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and were taken to hospital after a confrontation at a roadblock. A source said vehicles were allowed through the checkpoint after the intervention of the Civilian JTF in Senator Ibrahim Lamido’s convoy. Sokoto police said they had not received information about the alleged shooting and could not confirm it.
