How AI can work for everyone in Kenya

AI adoption in Kenya reached only 8% by late 2025, despite growing interest from startups and government institutions. Challenges include connectivity gaps, high smartphone costs, and a shortage of specialized talent. Additionally, English-language models exclude many Kenyan languages, limiting the cultural relevance of AI tools. To advance, Kenya needs to strengthen its digital infrastructure and expand digitization across various sectors.
