Man shot with crossbow at the University of Surrey

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a University of Surrey staff member was shot with a crossbow. Surrey Police responded to reports of a man in his 50s being shot at Manor Park Student Village, Guildford, around 10:00 BST on Thursday. A former student is in custody. The victim, a campus safety team member, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
