At least 10 people were killed and 60 wounded in a fireworks explosion during a festival in the village of Santa Maria Canchesda, in the Temascalcingo municipality. The explosion was triggered by a straw bull that ignited a larger store of fireworks in the village church, causing debris and a fire in the town square.
