The United States raised its travel advisory for Kenya from Level 2 to Level 3 after the country reported its eighth Ebola case. The first patient, a Kenyan businessman living in the DRC, returned to Kenya via Uganda and died in Nairobi on October 5; the seven other cases involve relatives and medical staff. Kenyan authorities say those infected are in quarantine and stable, and 128 of 130 identified contacts have been traced and quarantined. In the DRC, the outbreak has caused 4,381 deaths among more than 9,000 cases, according to Congolese health authorities.
