Boxer Amanda Serrano to retire after farewell fight in Puerto Rico on January 9

Puerto Rican champion Amanda Serrano will retire after defending her unified WBO and WBA featherweight titles against Australia’s Skye Falzon on January 9 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan. The 38-year-old has a record of 50 wins, four losses and one draw, including 32 knockouts, and shares the all-time women’s knockout record with Christy Martin. Serrano made history with Katie Taylor in 2022 as the first women to headline a fight at Madison Square Garden; Taylor won their trilogy in 2025. Serrano has also been a leading advocate for equality in women’s boxing, including competing in a 12-round, three-minute-round unified world title bout in 2023.
