Cameroon: control of disability and survivor pensions generates 12 billion FCFA in savings per year

Since November 2021, the operation to control and secure the file of disability and survivor pension beneficiaries has saved the Cameroonian state approximately 12 billion FCFA per year, according to Finance Minister Louis Paul Motaze. The operation aims to eliminate undue payments. In January 2020, a list of 7,855 former civil servants suspected of irregularly receiving these pensions was published, leading to verifications.
