Umahi orders closure of old Niger Bridge for repairs

Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has ordered the temporary closure of the old Niger Bridge for major rehabilitation works. The closure will take effect seven days from Friday, with traffic diverted to the Second Niger Bridge. Umahi emphasized that this closure is necessary for the installation of solar-powered streetlights and closed-circuit television cameras on the bridge.
