Ballon d’Or win will help keep Kane at Bayern, says Matthäus

Lothar Matthäus believes Harry Kane’s Ballon d’Or win could help persuade the striker to extend his contract with Bayern Munich, where talks are under way. Kane, 33, became the first Englishman to win the award since Michael Owen in 2001. He scored 61 goals in 51 matches in all competitions last season as Bayern completed a domestic league and cup double. Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham in 2023 for 100 million euros and has since won the league twice.
