DStv’s woes deepen as 22,450 customers drop off

DStv lost 22,450 subscribers in the first quarter of 2026, reducing its base to 248,053 customers, an 8.3% drop from December 2025. Zuku also lost 17,161 customers, while StarTimes and Azam TV gained a combined 3,798 subscribers. Overall, pay-TV subscriptions across the four providers in Kenya fell 5.3% to 645,763 in March. Economic hardships and competition from streaming services are the main drivers of the decline.
