NGO network 'RODI-RDC' advocates for the creation of a national commission for assistance to internally displaced persons

The network of NGOs defending the rights of internally displaced persons in DRC (RODI-RDC) calls for the urgent creation of a National Commission for Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons. According to a statement released on June 8, this commission would be a permanent institutional mechanism to coordinate and plan sustainable aid for over 6 million IDPs in DRC. Coordinator Symphorien Kwengo criticizes current assistance as limited to occasional and irregular interventions, worsening food insecurity and extreme precariousness. He calls for strategic planning, permanent budgeting, and coordination with humanitarian partners.
