The Organising Committee of the Ojude Oba Festival announced that the 2026 edition of the cultural celebration will proceed as scheduled, despite the passing of the Awujale of Ijebuland, the late Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona. Coordinator Chief Fassy Adetokunboh Yusuf dismissed speculation about the festival's suspension, stating that it is a timeless cultural institution rooted in the identity and unity of the Ijebu people. He emphasized that the festival should not be suspended due to the royal transition, in line with the late monarch's wishes.
