URGENT – 2026 Amended Finance Bill: Sonko summons MPs to plenary after two committee defeats (statement)

After two consecutive committee rejections, bill No. 40/2026 on the amended 2026 finance law will be considered by the National Assembly in plenary on Tuesday, November 3, at 10 a.m. The notice, signed on October 30 by National Assembly President Ousmane Sonko, places the bill on the agenda. The Ministry of Economy, Finance and Planning, led by Cheikh Diba, will defend the proposal before all MPs amid disagreements between the government and the parliamentary majority over the proposed budget adjustments.
