Indomitable Lions: David Pagou explains why Nouhou Tolo was not called up

David Pagou left Nouhou Tolo out of the squad for Cameroon’s next two Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying matches. The national team coach said the sporting decision was intended to give another defensive profile a chance, not to question Tolo’s ability. Pagou noted that the Seattle Sounders defender captained Cameroon at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and had an excellent tournament, adding that the staff already knew his qualities and character.
