Laurent Gbagbo left Côte d’Ivoire on September 26 for a private stay in Belgium. At a PPA-CI meeting in Léomidouo, in the Bounkani region, on October 31, party secretary-general Demba Traoré said the former president was well and expected to return that evening. However, the announced return had not taken place by November 3. Deputy secretary-general Apo Gisèle Kpan also presented Gbagbo’s Social Pact and said envoys would explain it to residents.

Malian President Assimi Goïta is expected in Burkina Faso on Thursday, November 5, for a working and friendship visit, according to the country’s state protocol directorate.
