SBT: Why Nigeria’s Reps should reject additional tax on non-alcoholic drinks – CPPE

The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) has urged Nigeria's House of Representatives to reject the proposed additional tax on non-alcoholic drinks, known as the Sugar-Sweetened Beverage (SBT) tax. According to the CPPE, the tax would penalize consumers and local businesses without achieving the intended public health goals. The organization instead calls for alternative measures to combat non-communicable diseases.
