Murder of Modou Khabane Guèye: Intriguing Evidence Found in the Jewelry Shop

Fifty-five-year-old jeweler Modou Khabane Guèye was found dead beneath the counter of his shop in Zac de Mbao on Saturday, October 17. Investigators noted a deep head wound, abrasions, possible signs of a struggle and blood spatter on the shop walls. The safe showed signs of an attempted opening, the circuit breaker had been switched off, and a surveillance camera was missing. Rufisque police collected evidence and retrieved surveillance footage, which reportedly shows someone loitering near the shop the previous day; the possibility of a robbery gone wrong remains unconfirmed.
