Lagos Shuts Ejigbo Fire Station After Repeated Attacks on Firefighters

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has closed its Ejigbo station indefinitely following alleged attacks on firefighters on October 13 and 16, 2026. The agency said the first incident was reported to Ejigbo Police Station, but the alleged attackers later returned and disrupted operations despite the intervention of senior police officials. Controller-General Margaret Adeseye said firefighters and equipment would be moved temporarily to an undisclosed location to protect personnel while maintaining emergency services. She called on security agencies to investigate impartially and take legal action against anyone found responsible.
