The FBI attributed the theft of $6.3bn in virtual assets from cryptocurrency exchange Binance to North Korea and identified the group TraderTraitor as responsible. The agency said the perpetrators were laundering the stolen funds, mainly by converting them into Ethereum, and are expected to continue in stages. The FBI urged virtual asset service providers to block transactions linked to suspected addresses. Binance said it had replaced 90 percent of the stolen amount with company funds and would cover the remainder without passing the loss on to customers.
