Morocco: Senegalese detainees face severe penalties with latest requisitions

The Moroccan prosecutor has requested sentences of up to two years in prison for 18 Senegalese supporters judged for hooliganism during the CAN 2025 final. These supporters were initially sentenced to three months to one year for violence that erupted after a penalty was awarded to Morocco. The defense sought to hear from Patrice Motsepe, the president of the African Football Confederation, but this request was denied. The accused denied their involvement, claiming they were caught in an involuntary crowd movement.
