US forces launch new strikes against Iran - Military

US forces launched strikes against Iran for a seventh consecutive night on July 17, 2026, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM). The strikes, which began at 1900 GMT, are intended to continue degrading Iranian military capabilities. Additionally, on July 16, US Marines boarded the tanker M/T Wen Yao in the Gulf of Oman as part of the renewed naval blockade of Iran's ports, to ensure compliance with the blockade.
