Sir Jeffrey Donaldson denies meeting sex abuse accuser to 'nip in the bud' allegations

Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, 63, former DUP leader, denied at his trial at Newry Crown Court that he met one of his two sex abuse accusers to 'nip in the bud' the allegations. He faces 18 charges including rape, allegedly committed between 1985 and 2008. The meeting allegedly took place in the late 1990s at the Christian Family Centre in Armoy. The prosecution suggested he attended to quash the accusations, but Donaldson said he went willingly and no allegations were raised.
