Troops rescue ASP, six kidnapped travelers in Plateau

Troops of the Nigerian Army rescued an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and six other travelers abducted on Monday in Sopp village, Riyom Local Government Area, Plateau State. The operation was carried out by troops under Sector 6 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) following a distress call at 9:30 p.m. The victims, including ASP Babagida Ishaku, were intercepted while traveling from Akwanga, Nasarawa State, to Jos. All were rescued unharmed after a firefight with the kidnappers, who fled.
