Residents of the Tumbwe chiefdom in Mugonga village (Nyunzu territory, Tanganyika) are gradually returning to calm after a customary conflict that left two dead and several injured last Thursday. The new customary chief was installed despite opposition from a group of residents. Provincial Interior Minister Dox Eale confirmed the information, adding that some instigators have been arrested. The association Umoja ni Nguvu denounces the recurrence of customary succession conflicts in the province.
