South Sudan: Two million people risk losing food aid due to lack of funding

In South Sudan, the World Food Programme warned that two million people could lose food aid in October due to a lack of funding. Currently, the organization supports 3 million people in a country where more than half of the population struggles to feed themselves. Matthew Hollingworth, WFP's Deputy Executive Director for Operations, highlighted that 7.8 million people need assistance, including 2.2 million children and 1.2 million pregnant or breastfeeding women.
