Nigeria: Army Reveals Details of the Elimination of Terrorist Bilal Al-Minuki

Abu Bilal Al-Minuki, the commander of the Islamic State in the Lake Chad Basin, was neutralized during a joint air-ground operation in Metele, Borno State, between May 15 and 16, 2026. The operation, lasting over three hours, involved Nigerian and American commandos, including members of SEAL Team 6. Al-Minuki, who had evaded detection for years using aliases, was killed after refusing to surrender. The United States provided logistical support and intelligence for this operation.
