Council of Ministers: PM Ousmane Sonko Accelerates Reforms in Markets, Agriculture, and Digitalization

During the Council of Ministers on May 20, 2026, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko presented initiatives to modernize markets, prepare for the 2026-2027 agricultural campaign, and accelerate the digitalization of public services. He announced an investment plan of 57.5 billion FCFA and emphasized the need for more effective governance. Sonko also discussed the Market Modernization and Management Program (PROMOGEM), aiming to restructure 528 markets and build 67 new ones.
