KUCCPS Explains Why Over 1,000 Grade A Students Missed Medicine Placement

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) explained that most students who scored grade A in the 2025 KCSE were not placed in medicine due to limited available slots. According to CEO Agnes Wahome, there are fewer than 1,000 medicine slots available, while over 2,000 students achieved an A. She emphasized that even high-achieving candidates may miss out due to intense competition and limited capacity.
