Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has been sanctioned by the ICC after testing positive for Carboxy-THC, a cannabis metabolite, following Pakistan's T20 World Cup match against the Netherlands in February. He admitted the violation and received a three-month ban backdated to May 1, when he began a voluntary provisional suspension. The ICC disqualified his records from the February 7 match through May 1. The 32-year-old played in all seven of Pakistan's matches in the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.
