Lions’ Den: Habib Diarra, another major problem for Patrick Vieira

Habib Diarra, the Sunderland midfielder, is doubtful for Senegal’s November camp after suffering a recurrence of a muscle injury in his right thigh. His club coach, Régis Le Bris, confirmed the injury, and medical staff estimate he will be out for at least three weeks. His absence adds to Ismail Jakobs’s withdrawal and Assane Diao’s injury as Senegal prepare to face Sudan twice. Diarra will begin treatment and rehabilitation in England, aiming to return to full fitness for his club and Senegal’s upcoming fixtures in 2027.
